Van for Madonna Primary School

Euro 0,00 Raised

8500 Euro to purchase van

Madonna Primary school was established by Immaculate Heart Sisters in response to a long term persistent request of the Kabongo community in Kenya,  to have a mission school offering quality and intergraded education for the young generation.

It is located in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, in the former Rift Valley Province.  In its 8 years of existence, it has grown from 25 to 250 pupils.

Kabongo sub- location is a highly populated area. The majority of the occupants are very poor and a few are educated.  There is a high rate of illiteracy due to financial difficulties to meet the school needs.  The community in Kabongo was highly affected by presidential Post-Election violence in Kenya 2007 and 2008. Many people died within the village, others lost their spouses and many children were left orphans. Many youths are idle and they are prone to engage in bad practices like alcoholism and drug abuse.

Revamping the School infrastructure through the purchase of the vehicle will enable the management to achieve their critical objective to offer quality education. The support will also enable the management to enroll more children in the school especially those who are still at home due to poverty and they will also share in the learning.

The direct beneficiaries are children hailing from far distances. The first priority will be accorded to children who are receiving treatment of jiggers and Children with Disabilities.

The project will be implemented by Immaculate Heart Sisters management committee and Parents Teachers Association who are the representative of the children and the school.

Expected out-put

- 20 children can be able to access education with ease especially during the rainy seasons.

- Achievement of 50% quality education for our Kabongo children.

- Increment of literacy level by 50% in the next two years.

- Improved level of education hence better standard of living and crime reduction
